The Women's Law Centre sincerely appreciates the work undertaken by our volunteers. We work with volunteers from various backgrounds including students, community workers, the general public and private legal practitioners who undertake various tasks such as legal research, project work, legal support, administrative support or volunteering in our Evening Legal Clinic.

Evening Legal Clinic Volunteer Solicitor

We are currently seeking volunteer solicitors for our Evening Legal Clinic which occurs the first Monday of each month. The Clinic was established to provide initial legal advice on family law property settlement matters to women who face disadvantage.

If you are interested in applying for this position please provide us with the completed application form as well as a covering letter and a copy of your practicing certificate. It is not necessary to provide a statement addressing the selection criteria as this will be addressed at the interview.  Applicants must have Adobe Reader v7.0.5 or later to use the PDF Application Form. Seasonal Clerkship

The Women's Law Centre is now offers a seasonal clerkship position to students concerned about social justice and women's rights. The total duration (length of program) and weekly time commitments for the clerkship are flexible and can be negotiated to suit your availability with a minimum of 7.5 hours per week and a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. The clerkship will give you the opportunity to be exposed to legal practice and experience the culture of a specialist community legal centre.

We are currently operating at our full capacity to supervise student volunteers and are unable to take on new students at this time.  If you wish to express your interest in volunteering with us, please provide us with the completed application form and your CV, which we will save on file until we have more positions available.  Alternatively, watch this space for upcoming opportunities.
